Abortion and its consequences

Introduction:

Pregnancy can always end by two ways, both of them are done in clinic after decision is made (Parenthood, 2019). Humans can easily take decisions when it’s concerned about their life, as it is way harder to take decision related to another life. For some people, Abortion is considered to be the right solution for saving another life, while it’s considered for others to be wrong choice. Taking an abortion choice should be done wisely in order to avoid future regrets, live a better life and feel satisfied.

Claim:

Abortion is believed to be the only choice for some people, as they find it the way to save the child from harsh, poor life and other reasons related to their life. It always depends on the situation and the status of the parents, abortion is built on ideas, such as refusing a child from a divorced man, genetic problems, not having enough money and all of them considered to be right choices for saving the life of the baby. Parents don’t want a hard life for their baby, so the decision is to end the process, which also doesn’t mean that it’s easy for them. Abortion can be done by two methods, one by using abortion pills and the other one by doing medical surgeries (Advisory-System, 2015).

Counter Argument Claim:

As there are a lot of people support abortion, there are others that think it is totally false action, as they don’t have the right to choose the fate of a baby, sometimes it’s related to religion and cultural beliefs. Fetuses can feel the pain during the process of abortion, which its considered one of the main reasons, as well as it can cause psychological problems to women, such as anxiety (Proscons, 2019). People refuse the abortion not only to save the fetuses, as abortion could raise the risk of not getting pregnant again. People believes that women should be responsible for the baby, as well as accepting the situation. A lot of women claimed that they experienced side effects after abortion such as bleeding, pain in the abdominal system and causing damage to other body organs (Pregnancy-Association, 2006).

Refutation:

Despite the side effects that could be caused from abortion, some women have the courage to do the surgery. those people are willing to do it for helping the baby from genetically diseases, as they don’t want the baby to suffer in his life, they believe that they will suffer from mental health problems if they denied doing it, as well as some women who work in modeling and acting refuse to complete pregnancy, as they are afraid about their future and any damage of their bodies. In some cases abortion must be done, as the fetus will not survive during the pregnancy. Some parent economic status are not flexible enough to cover the baby budget, which will lead to uneducated, poor care for the children and not providing the needed environment for the baby, as in some countries hospital fees and baby products are too expensive (Bernstein, 2019).

Conclusion:

To sum up, abortion is a complicated process to be done due to the behavioral, cultural and other believes that women will face. At the end parents will have to face the results depending on their decision. Abortion sometimes can be advised by doctors in order to help the baby from suffering and living a different life than others, while others believe that it is the worst choice and in other countries abortion is banned, as parents don’t have the authority over controlling the baby’s life. Abortion is ethical when it is related to any damage that will hurt the child in the future or to any damage that women could be exposed to during pregnancy.

Child abortion

Introduction:

Abortion is a painful topic for both men and women. Sometimes it is called “termination of pregnancy”. Couples face tough times talking about it, they find themselves facing the moral dilemma of whether or not to terminate a pregnancy. They keep wondering whether if it is morally wrong! And if it is legal or illegal. According to ANSIRH they found that children of women who are denied an abortion had greater odds (72% vs 55%) of living in poverty in comparison with the children of women who received a wanted abortion. Similarly, existing children were more likely (87% vs 70%) to live in a household in which their mother is not able to afford necessary living expenses such as food, housing, and transportation compared to children of women who received a wanted abortion. (BRIEF, 2019).

Claim:

On one hand, child abortion is harmful and has many negative impact on women and children. It has many potential side effects on the woman, such us: regret, anger, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, guilt, shame, sense of loneliness or isolation, loss of self-confidence, nightmares and relationship issues (Adler, 2016). There are women with higher probability of having a negative emotional or psychological side effect such as individuals with previous emotional or psychological concerns, individuals who have been coerced, forced or persuaded to get an abortion, etc.

Counter Claim:

On the other hand, some people believe that child abortion can be helpful and have positive effects but that does not give them the right to end the fetus life under any circumstances.  Interviews with the women revealed that most of them had knowledge of contraception but were unwilling to use it because of wrong information. Most women did not know that abortion is illegal in Nigeria, but felt that it should be. Measures that could be of value in reducing abortion-associated maternal mortality in Nigeria include training and retraining of physicians in the management of abortion and of abortion complications, family planning education of all fertile women, provision of confidential family planning services and liberalization of the abortion law.

Refutation:

Generally we do differentiate between actual and potential beings, and we distinguish between their rights, too. Many of the rights of a potential person are only potential rights – they only become actual rights when the person becomes an actual person. . So, for instance, a 10-year-old may be a potential elector, and has the potential right to vote, however he or she doesn’t get the particular right to vote till he or she reaches her or his eighteenth birthday and becomes eligible to vote. And another example: the heir to the throne is a potential king, but he doesn’t have the rights of a king until the present monarch dies.

Conclusion:

To conclude, it is obvious that abortion shows many risks to the woman that not only endangers her life, but also the life of the baby in subsequent pregnancies. The risks range from physical, psychological to biological. However, it is very unfortunate that a number of abortion cases, impacts and even those who take part in the action illegally go unreported. There are also many myths going around about the practice. However, even from the religious point of view abortion cannot be justified. Which leads to knowing that no one has the right to end the fetus life and go through abortion, because the fetus deserves to live. Even if it is going to be risky and couples won’t be able to parent him or take care of him, they can send him to an orphanage.

Why Abortion Should Be Legal

Introduction:

Having a children unwillingly could be traumatizing. Moreover, unintentional babies is a major problem that has been discussed in courts over years. Its been four decades after the U.S. Supreme made a decision that its illegal. Yet, opponents and supporters of abortion rights are still battling over the issue in court, at the ballot box and in state legislatures. (Lipka & Gramlich, 2019) However, surveys across the United States declare that about six in ten adults believe that abortion should be legal. It’s a highly ethical dilemma that has been debated for years. Is it a right, or a crime?

Claim:

Abortion could be viewed as the only way out for some women. The primary reason for abortion, according to a study, is women would like to postpone having a child, as the family, or a single mother, isn’t ready to have a child yet. (Bankole, Singh, & Haas, 1998) Secondly, the most common reason is not being able to provide for a child. Having a child costs a lot of money, and energy, and dedication. Brining a new soul into the world should never be overseen as an easy task. It’s a responsibility that only a mother could decide if she is ready for it or not. Otherwise, it should never be a burden thrown upon her. Not being able to educate a child and provide food, shelter and healthcare are enough reasons why abortion should be legal.

Counter Argument Claim:

On the other hand, religion and cultural beliefs counter aforementioned ideas. Killing an innocent soul is wrong and is a crime. Critics believe that human life begins at conception, hence a conceived child is a innocent soul, and therefore its considered a crime and morally unethical and wrong to kill an innocent soul. Science believes that an unborn baby is able to identify pain after 18 weeks of being conceived, hence its torturous for the child to be born. In addition to this, its possible for a unborn to have a bright future, hence critics claim that it shouldn’t be a human right to stop a child from having his chance for a bright future. Also, legalizing abortion increases the tolerance of killing, as it could be seen that it decreases society’s respect for life, hence it could lead to euthanasia, genocide and murder rates. (BBC, 2014)

Refutation:

As much as it is considered unlawful to commit murder to an innocent soul, it should be unlawful to let him exist in the first place willingly. Couples, single mothers, elderly or ill mothers should have the full right to choose whether they want to keep the baby or not. If babies do feel pain by 18 weeks, then abortion should be fully legal up until then. A bright future for an unborn is too overseen by critics. A child born into a poor family with no father and a sick mother has very low chances of making it through into adulthood, and if he/she does, they have even harder chances making it through without being traumatized. Forcing kids into mental illnesses throughout their lives is just as unethical as letting them “have their chance for a bright future.” Controlled and legal abortions maintain the society’s respect towards life, as legal abortions only goal is to ensure that if a child unborn won’t have the needs required to exist, that means its better of not existing and suffering throughout its life.

Conclusion:

Abortion is a double edged sword that could be easily misused or abused. Depending on the parents’ economical and social situation, it should dictate whether having a child or not is a bright idea. It should be also a viable choice not to have a child. Using protection not to have one in the first place is the best way to deal with such a situation. However, mistakes do happen and should be fixable. Laws and ethics shouldn’t get in the way of destroying and ruining a child’s future. Abortion should be legal all around the world, specially in developing countries, where its mostly illegal. Yet, it should be highly regulated and monitored by the government to avoid unwanted consequences.

Abortion should be illegal

Abortion is basically for the pregnant women to end their pregnancy, and taking the life, removing their baby from her. If the abortion was made due to healthcare problems, or a very worthy reason then it should not be a problem in the abortion but some people do abortions because of a silly cause. So why abortion should be illegal? Many women are doing abortions for a certain reason, for instance, health problems, unwilling to have the baby, or they cannot afford having the baby at the time, etc. Abortion has many effects, and advantages on the women who do it, some people believe that abortion is beneficial, in contrast, science researchers found that abortion is very dangerous, and it might cause risk on the patients’ health.
Abortion must be illegal because it is considered as taking one’s soul, hence it is murder, also due to all the health problems, and mental problems it causes, abortion is also illegal in some cultures because it is prohibited in the Islamic religion unless the child was risking the mother’s health. According to the American pregnancy association, abortion may lead to abdominal cramps and pain, vomiting, bleeding and spotting, infections, and it might lead to the death of the patient. (American pregnancy association, 2006). Abortion might make the mother of the child very depressed afterward because she will feel very guilty from taking her own son’s life.
On the other hand, some people support the case of abortion for the sake of the mother’s health, some people will not be able to afford the cost of the pregnancy, and the amount of money they will pay on the child. Having an abortion will be beneficial for women who are not ready to take responsibility for raising a newborn child. It also will regulate the population because some countries are overpopulated, for instance, China. (BBC, 2016). But these reasons are non-worthy to take your son’s life.
In contrast, women who do not want to have a baby should be very concerned about getting pregnant by taking the right medicine and using protection, If they are not old enough, or do not have enough income to raise a child then they should use all the possible ways to prevent pregnancy, and to be more conscious. Abortions are very dangerous surgery therefore it should be illegal. According to a study were made in 2017 by WHO and Guttmacher that at least 22,800 women die every year as a result of unsafe abortion. (WHO, Guttmacher, 2017)
To conclude, every couple should be very careful about what they are doing because abortion is considered as murdering, and there is no reason to make any couple end their child’s life due to a non-worthy reason. Getting pregnant is a very big deal for every couple, therefore they should think a lot before taking this decision, and if they do not want to have a child they should do whatever it takes to prevent the pregnancy from happening. Nothing should make an abortion “I believe every abortion is a tragedy” (Abbott, 2019).
